Aries AF-Specialty Filter Cartridges

Aries Filterworks products are manufactured in the USA using the latest technologies. A variety of welding, filling and molding machinery ensure complete control over the manufacturing process. Aries Filterworks products are solid from the ground up. Each filter is built around ResinTech premium medias. Cartridges are filled fresh from the manufacturing facility giving maximum shelf life.

The AF Series provides effective Arsenic reduction by utilizing advanced media technology of ResinTech’s ASM-10-HP Arsenic selective media has unsurpassed capacity and is effective over the entire pH range of potable water. In cartridge form, the AF Arsenic Reduction Series is an ideal choice for POU applications requiring EPA compliance of less than 10 ppb of arsenic. These cartridges are double-open end cartridges that fit standard residential and industrial housings.

Used in combination with an Acid Washed Coconut Shell Activated Carbon, KDF can significantly extend the life of filter cartridges. KDF is an oxidation-reduction (redox) media that removes chlorine, hydrogen sulfide and many other contaminants. KDF is available in several varieties for specific applications.

KDF-55 removes chlorine and reduces heavy metals. KDF-85 removes hydrogen sulfide and reduces iron. Both KDF redox medias are bacteriostatic and control the growth of micro-organisms in filters. KDF allows Activated Carbon to do a better job at removing taste and odor.

Nitrate are reduced by using SIR-100-HP, a strong base anion exchange resin. It is especially useful in nitrate removal applications due to its ability to remove nitrates preferentially in the presence of sulfates and other divalentions.

Fluoride is removed by RESINTECH SIR-900 by a chemical reaction with the media. The process is flow and pH sensitive. The best results are obtained when the flow is limited to about l GPM/cu.ft. and the pH is held at 5.5. Higher flows and higher or lower pH causes a significant loss of capacity. The best capacity obtainable is approximately 0.2 lbs. per cu.ft. Leakage of fluoride is generally less than 0.1 mg./L to breakthrough.
